I build custom software and stand up AI agents that automate tedious, time-consuming manual work for small businesses. I help small to medium-sized organizations adopt AI development safely. I also help non-technical founders launch new online businesses.
My 15 years of tech product leadership, including 6+ years leading security, trust and privacy product at Amazon, at Ring and then across Amazon Devices, taught me to ship production-quality software with the right guardrails. I'm also a two-time startup founder, including a Y Combinator company.

What I do
Build
I build it for you.
Tell me about the work that takes up tedious time in your week. I build software with Claude Code that does it, test that it works in your real-world situation, and install it for you.
Train
I train you on it, in person.
Once it's built, I sit down with you and your team and show you how to use it on your own work, until you're comfortable running it day to day. Outside the Bay Area, we do this by video.
Support
I stay on to support it.
After it's running, I'm available for fixes, maintenance and improvements, so the software keeps up as your business changes.
Launch
I help you start something new.
Have an idea for a side business or a startup, but no technical background? I build the first version with you, so you can put it in front of real customers, and I stay on to improve it as you learn what they need.
AI adoption
I help your organization adopt AI.
I look at how your team works, find where AI and agents will pay off, and set the plan: what to build first, who owns it, and how you'll measure outcomes. Then I can stay on, if desired, to advise as your team builds.
Guardrails
I put guardrails on AI agents.
Before your team's agents touch real data, I set what each one can reach and how much it can spend, one shared way to build and review the work, and a written policy everyone works under.

AI adoption and guardrails
AI strategy for a company building with agents.
In progress
A Northern California e-commerce and events company has staff across the business building their own AI agents and apps. I'm advising on how AI should be applied to business and operations, including developing new internal automated tools for content generation, marketing campaigns and SEO, and e-commerce.
Research automation
Food-systems research, automated.
A research team tracked policy across 8 countries and 10 action areas by hand. Now the sources are pulled, translated and filed in Notion, and the annual report update and a draft write-up are ready to edit.
The client estimates it saved two weeks of work, and report writing now takes half the time.
“Brian enabled me to create a living database where I can store information throughout the year that I can draw on for our annual reports which saves me time and makes information much easier to track and validate.”
Anna N., Food Systems and Climate Change consultantBilling
Law-firm billing, phase by phase.
I rebuilt a law firm's monthly billing one phase at a time. Time entries become a review-ready timesheet and invoice, and a pastable email for each client. The math is tested against the firm's own past invoices, and an attorney reviews everything before it gets sent.
How I work
You tell me what problems you'd like to solve.
I build it in stages, sitting with you.
You try each stage on your real-world situation, and I fix issues and make improvements as we build to your requirements.
I install it in your setup.
We decide together how much monitoring and alerting it needs: simple if it can go down without consequence, built out if the business relies on it.
I train you to use it, then stay on for support.
You get software that fits how you work, and someone to call when you need more.
The system behind the work
When I build in my own system, specialized AI review agents check the work before anything ships: security, privacy and compliance, code quality, testing, and how it will run day to day. I mark work ready only after its tests pass. Each project keeps a written record of what changed and why, so you can always see how your system got that way. The documentation enables you or someone else to maintain your application after it's been delivered.
How work moves from your request to a written record. After the build, five checks run side by side, and the work is marked checked and ready only after they pass.
